This page is designed to give you a few tips to think about when choosing your tiara:
1) Choose your dress first.
I recommend that you do not choose your tiara until you have found your dress. This is because you will need to know the colour of your dress and whether it has any embellishments, for example crystals, pearls or coloured embroidery.
2) Gold or Silver?
Well, this will depend on your dress. When looking for wedding dresses I found that gold seemed to co-ordinate better with cream or coffee coloured dresses, and silver with white dresses. This however is personal choice!
3) Style of tiara
I recommend choosing a tiara that matches the style of your dress. If your dress is embellished with crystals or pearls, than why not co-ordinate your tiara with the dress and choose a tiara made with crystal style beads or pearls. If your dress has coloured embroidery, then match it with a tiara with the same colour crystals. The same applies for bridesmaid and prom dresses.
4) Size of tiara
This will depend on whether it is for the bride, bridesmaid or for a prom. The smaller size tiaras are ideal for younger bridesmaids and for proms. However, they are also great if you are a bride wearing your hair up and would like to wear your tiara more towards the back of your hair around the ‘hair up’ style. The larger tiaras are ideal for both brides and older bridesmaids.
5) Your hair on the day
It may help to have some idea of how you would like to wear your hair on the big day (also see ‘size’ above). If you are using a hairdresser, they will need you to take your tiara to any appointments to discuss hair styles. I found this really useful, as the hairdresser is able to try different styles around your tiara to see which one works the best.I hope you find these tips useful and happy tiara hunting! |
